Palm Oil Physical Refining Plant

Palm Oil Physical Refining Plant is a palm oil refining system designed to process crude palm oil (CPO) into high quality palm oil through a physical refining process. This system helps remove dirt, color, odor, and free fatty acid (FFA) content, thereby producing palm oil that is cleaner and ready to be used for various industrial needs.

Physical refining technology is widely used in the palm oil processing industry because the process is more efficient, saves energy, and is able to produce oil with stable quality.

Physical Process Stages Refining

1. Degumming
   The degumming process aims to remove the gum content or impurities contained in crude palm oil. This stage is important so that the oil is ready for further processing in the refining process. Commonly used methods are hydration degumming and acid degumming.

2. Bleaching
   The bleaching process is carried out by adding bleaching earth (white clay) to remove unwanted colors in palm oil. The amount of bleaching earth can be adjusted to produce a clearer oil color.

3. Deacidification and Deodorization
   At this stage the removal process is carried out free fatty acids (FFA) and the odor contained in palm oil. The process is carried out under low pressure and high temperature so that the FFA can be separated and the quality of the oil is better.
